WHAT IF YOUR AI showed up to work before you did?
Not "answered a question when you asked." I mean actually did the work while you were asleep, and had it waiting for you Monday morning like a coworker or employee who never calls into work sick and never asks for a raise.
Regular AI chat conversations are sooo Q1 2026, Have you been stuck in a nonworking time machine?🙄😋.....You ask, it answers, you close the tab.
This new wave of AI is different. It's a COWORKer. It opens your files, works across your documents, does multi-step tasks on its own, and can run on a schedule you set; like that good gym workout feeling minus the exercise and the sweat.
The names of the feature is confusing, Anthropic calls theirs Claude Cowork. OpenAI has agent and scheduled task features called ChatGPT Work. Can you guess what Copilot calls theirs? Correct, Copilot Cowork. I know I know, it sounds like AI loves Rihanna's music.....Get it....

Actionable Task:
Give your AI one standing weekly assignment.
Step 1: Open Claude Cowork (desktop app), ChatGPT, or Copilot Cowork on the paid plan.
Step 2: Upload or connect the files it needs. Your board report template, your donor list, your program numbers, whatever the task touches.
Step 3: Paste this and set it to run weekly:
"Every Sunday evening, prepare my Monday ED briefing. Review the files I've given you and produce one page with: the three things that need my decision this week, anything with a deadline in the next 14 days, a drafted board or staff update I can edit in under 10 minutes, and any donor or funder who has gone quiet and needs a personal touch. Keep it short, plain language, and nontechnical. Flag anything you are unsure about instead of guessing."
Step 4: Monday morning, open it. Edit it. Send it. Go do the real mission work.
Example use cases:
• Monthly detailed financial analysis board report drafted before you remember it's due
• Weekly list of donors and personalized drafted emails to donors who have gone quiet and need a check-in
• A running grant deadline tracker that updates itself, while you're with your family ignoring work the whole weekend.
Note: Start with ONE assignment. Not five. Get one running well for two working weeks, then add another. The EDs who try to automate their whole work life in one Saturday are the same EDs who abandon it by Wednesday.

The work that drains you was never yours to carry. Hand it off, and watch how much of you comes back for the people who need your presence, not your typing.
