Happy Memorial Day Monday,

If you're supposed to be off, rest and read this tomorrow.

But if I know you well enough, you're still reading.😋

Fine...fine....

Success in anything is psychological first, so this month, I'm doing a series on AI Mindset lessons that will make YOU more successful with AI.

Today is the final installment. If you missed last week's lesson on "The AI Dance", go check it out. It might be the most popular one of this series, yet.

Soooo....

I could close this series with so many interesting topics, such as:

▪ How the AI we think is 10 years away is actually right now.

▪ Why treating AI even more human than you think gives you way better results.

▪ The insane, untapped power of Perspective AI.

But for my final lesson, I'm getting a little nerdy on you. This concept is literally the entire thesis behind why I started ETS AI Consulting and why I focus exclusively on serving you, nonprofits.

With reason, everyone's panicking that AI will eliminate jobs. Boards worry about cutting staff. EDs fear becoming obsolete. Employees fear being replaced.

But here's what they're missing.

Nonprofits aren't running out of work. You're running out of CAPACITY to do the work.

There's no shortage of :

• Homeless people needing housing.

• Families needing food.

• (Your mission here)

Unfortunately for society, but fortunately for your job security, the demand for nonprofit services is INFINITE compared to current capacity.

Lesson #4:

Jevons Paradox (Sounds Sexy right 🙄)

Jevons Paradox states when something becomes more efficient, we don't use less of it. We use MORE of it because we can now afford to apply it everywhere.

Now apply this to nonprofits and AI...

When AI creates operational efficiency, here's what actually happens:

You don't fire your grant writer. You write 5x more grants and fund 5x more programs. (Yes, more money)

You don't reduce your fundraising team. You build 5x stronger donor relationships because you finally have TIME. (Yes, even more money )

The only logical outcome of AI efficiency in nonprofits? Helping MORE people. And you will need to account for that increased capacity and hire more people.

----------

Actionable Task:

Reframe Your AI Conversation

This week, change how you talk about AI with your staff, board, and yourself.

Instead of:

"AI will replace jobs."

Say: "AI will multiply our impact."

Instead of: "We need to cut costs with AI."

Say: "We need to expand our reach with AI."

Instead of: "How do we protect jobs from AI?"

Say: "How do we serve more people because of AI?"

Watch the energy in the room completely shift. Fear becomes excitement. Resistance becomes curiosity. Survival mode becomes growth mode.

(That tingly feeling you're having now, that's hope creeping in ☺️)

----------

Remember:

We think AI will bring destruction for nonprofits. The truth? It will allow more good in the world, creating more efficiency to serve others more deeply, more widely, and more meaningfully than ever before. That's a future worth being excited about .🙏🏾

P.S. Thank you so much for joining me on this 4-part AI mindset journey. If even ONE lesson shifted your mindset, this series did its job. Reply and tell me which lesson hit hardest or if you think I should do another series.

#ExistToServe

P.S. Drowning in tasks AI could handle? Don't know where to start? Need to save time and money? Sincerely, let's talk.

Let's hop on a 30-minute call. I'll show you how you can clock out on time, get home to your family, and still serve more community members:

Mondays are rough. It's scary times for Nonprofits. Your time is scarce. That’s why I created the Monday Motivational Minute. Each week, I’ll send you one high-impact, actionable idea to help you leverage AI and save time. It will always be a 1-minute read or less. If it adds value, great. If not, unsubscribe, but I’m betting you’ll want to stay. (Challenge Accepted ☺️)
