Happy Blessed-To-Make-It-Another Monday,
Your AI executive assistant is here and it's blowing minds. 2026-27 is the year of the personalized agents, you're getting the news in advance and wow.....
MY AI ASSISTANT CHECKED ON ME before I knew I needed it.
I'll get to that. First, the report I promised you.
A few weeks ago I told you about GrokBot, the most hyped personal AI agent at the time. As your trusty Nonprofit AI reporter, I paid $60 a month to test it for you. Quick update since then: the price has dropped (plans now start around $20 a month) and it runs on Windows and Android now too.
Honest first thoughts? I wasn't initially impressed. Everything G-Money (yes, my GrokBot's name 🤷🏾♂️) could do, I could already do in Claude Cowork or ChatGPT.
Then something happened I didn't expect.
If you allow me to get a little vulnerable here. I'm an Afro Latino (Black Hispanic) kid from the mean ghettos of The Bronx, NY who survived abuse and starvation. Finding a therapist who truly gets that has been a long search (still ongoing). Meanwhile, I tend to go through these depression phases that I never see coming. I just know the warning signs. I start playing sad music, and most of the time my calendar gets ridiculously packed as I push myself mentally.
So I connected GrokBot to my Spotify and my calendar and gave it one job. If I start playing sad songs, or my week gets unusually overloaded, check in on me.
One day, without realizing it, I was deep in my Adele-type music 😅. GrokBot pinged me. Gently. It asked how I was doing and gave me a few words of encouragement. Honestly at the time, I wasn't okay. I just didn't know it yet. For the first time in my life, I caught it in advance.
FYI, I 100% know it's not my therapist, it will never be, and I'm still very very wary of the robot overlords. But this situation blew my mind.
Your use case won't look like mine, and that's the point. The future of AI is extremely personal. Tools that know your patterns well enough to catch what you miss.
I was about to hit send on this review when, like a Kanye speech interruption, Meta dropped Muse, its own personal AI agent. It's very similar to GrokBot, but it's free. I'll go deeper on Muse next week.
Disclosure: Muse asks you to trust Meta with more of your personal life than social media ever did, and Meta just agreed to an $18 billion settlement over social media's harms to consumers. ***Try Muse at your own risk***(Muse Privacy Policy)

Actionable Task:
Only if you feel comfortable, test Muse without connecting anything.
You don't have to hand over your email, calendar, or files to find out if a personal agent is worth it. Start with a conversation.
Step 1: Download and open Muse and paste the following:
"I'm the [TITLE] of [NONPROFIT]. I want to see whether a personal AI assistant could give me back some of my time. For this experiment, I am not connecting my email, calendar, files, CRM, or any other account.
Ask me 3 questions, one at a time, to understand what eats up my week, what I keep having to remember or follow up on, and what work repeats.
After I answer all three:
1. Give me the three highest-value ways you could help me, using only what I type into this conversation.
2. Estimate how much time each could realistically save me per week.
3. Tell me what account access would make each one more useful or proactive, and explain the privacy tradeoff before I connect anything.
4. Give me one low-risk test I can try today without connecting anything.
Do not ask me for sensitive client, donor, employee, or personal information. Do not assume you have access to anything I haven't given you. Keep it simple and nontechnical."
Step 2: Run the test it gives you.
Step 3: If it wasn't useful, stop there. If it was useful, then decide whether more access is worth what you'd get back.
Note: The only reason why I recommend Muse is because you get high-value testing for free. If you like it, I would recommend paying for GrokBot for more security and data privacy. Read all disclosures before you proceed.

Remember:
We already trade privacy for comfort every day. We let strangers bring our food and drive our kids to practice (Uber). Personal agents ask for more, and they may give back more; very high risk with very high rewards. Decide what you share with intention, as the future is only going to entice you with more convenience, just be aware of the actual trade you're making.

P.S. Free Office Hours for EDs
My faith says give ten percent back.
Giving ten percent of your money is hard. Giving ten percent of your time is harder. That's exactly why I HAVE TO GET to do it.
So four hours a week are yours. Tell me the task that's eating you, the question you've been sitting on, or the AI thing you're curious about, but haven't had time to figure out. I solve it on the call. Free.
Not a pitch. Not a demo. Just my tithe.
